“The very basic core of a man’s living spirit is his passion for adventure” -Christopher McCandless
Passion is the essence of your motivation to do anything and a life without passion is a worthless life, being passionate makes you spirited, alive and it fills you with a sense of abundant energy.
I am passionate about travelling and it’s in my blood and I owe this to the nature of my father’s and my husband’s profession as they both have a transferable job and I have been shifting places since I was 6 months old and that’s how I must have caught the travel bug. I have traversed almost the entire length and breadth of the country and my beautiful motherland is so vast that there is so much to discover and unearth the hidden treasures of various places. I have travelled so extensively that I can write a travelogue which maybe I will at some point. Everything has fascinated me from the breathtakingly mesmerizing vistas of Kashmir to the southernmost wonders of Tamil Nadu, from the mystical East to the vibrant Gujarat. I have this unquenchable thirst to visit each and every nook and corner of our nation and completely immerse myself in its beauty. We are so different from each other be it our costume, tradition, culture or language but are still bound together.
Sometimes I really wonder how a country with so much of diversity can hold it together, maybe because we are one of the oldest civilizations or maybe it’s our culture of accepting everyone and living like a close knit unit and I feel so proud of ourselves.
Wherever we have been posted we have always tried to explore the surrounding areas, the popular tourist places, the cuisine and every place has something distinct to offer and there is so much of history, and historically we are the wealthiest.
Presently I am in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, here for the first time and as usual I am struck by the beauty of this place. It is a new state carved from Madhya Pradesh and has its own unique identity. The place where I am residing is Naya Raipur and is next to the capital city of Raipur. It is India’s sixth planned city and it reflects the rich heritage and culture of Chhattisgarh and India in its urban design and architecture. Special efforts are being taken to make it a people friendly and visitor friendly city. It is a new city which is still coming up and offers you amazing open spaces, wide roads, beautifully landscaped gardens, and walking plazas. It’s a paradise for Joggers, Walkers and Nature lovers.
I am thankful to be here because I picked up cycling almost after thirty years and the reason for doing so is that one can cycle for kilometers without being hassled about any chaotic traffic. I am passionate about cycling now and not a day goes when I am not riding. I am filled with gratitude for the people who gave us a golden opportunity to be in this amazing place and for pursuing this healthy habit in the prime of my life, something which I never fathomed would happen after three decades. It fills me with contentment, bliss and a new agility. I am looking forward to my new passion now.
